A Ships Wheel Fantasia Frog Kaleidoscope
 
Standing 8 ½”" high, turnings from solid brass with a multi colored wood barrel made by color dying the wood, stack gluing and cutting on a bias, then applying the wood to the barrel, mahogany barrel mount, 4 ½ “ brass cast frog standing on his head and on a 3 ½” “lily pad” turned from solid brass, complete with round brass base feet for added dimension. This Frog Scope is finished with chrome pins, black accents and signed, "Van Cort Instruments". The optics include a glass magnifier and first surface mirrors, with precise threaded mountings. Inside the chamber box is an array of lamped worked glass and other geometric forms. The base is finished with black leather, adding an extra extension of quality.
 
This is a one of a kind scope, the only one made and no others to follow.
